Original poetry of John David Thomas (a.k.a. John Thomas)

“Haiku” (of John David Thomas/John Thomas)

I fell into a

Hole, only to discover

The hole was my life

A pencil idles

As does the mind which pretends

To be deep in thought

I wait for the night

When the sun disappears, and

Shatters into tears

“I Just Want a Girl to Love”

Long blond hair and deep blue eyes

(I just want a girl to love)

Loneliness and deep blue skies

(I just want a girl to love)

What’s her name if she keeps her cool??

(I just want a girl to love)

What’s her name if she breaks “the rule”??

(I just want a girl to love)

Every day, I sit in seat J-12

But 30 feet away

Is where my mind is really at,

And where it’s gonna stay

Straight ahead I’m supposed to look–

Give my devout attention to a pile of books

But the sense in that I’ll never see,

As long as that girl is staring at me…

(repeat first stanza)

               THE END
